Pi#6 - Vanity Makeover

This must be my favourite project so far. The difference is so radical, you won't believe it's the same bathroom. When we entered the apartment, the vanity was in a very bad shape. The mdf counter top was lacking the edge and water was entering all around it, destroying the inner shelves. Of course, replacing it was not an option, so we needed a more budget friendly option. You won't believe what we did with 6 dollars.

Here is the "before":

And here is the "After":

Now the contact paper is folded up to the wall, so the water cannot get in the cabinet. It lasted the two years we lived there, and I bet it is still alive! I have to say the owner came once to fix an electric issue, and when he saw the vanity, he asked us if we replaced the counter top. That was very flattering!!

What do you think?

And here's the entire bathroom makeover, plus two small projects:

The mirror we found at the street. I covered it with the same black contact of the counter top (Please, try to focus on the project, not the catastrophe that's my hair):

And this is a small organizing tip that's been helping me for a while, to avoid the mess on the counter top: Take a nice box or basket and place it in a corner, well arranged, with all your daily use products. They will stay in their place, so it will be an organized mess. You can use every ugly box, just paint it, cover it with a nice design paper or fabric, you can add a ribbon, whatever you like. Make sure it is at least at some degree water resistant, and there you go:

I also added inciense sticks and other perfume products to make it look and smell nice. Your man will thank you... after all, his shampoo and shaving knife almost disappear in this ocean of beauty products of ours.

And here's the final result. After the 6 dollar vanity makover, a better light fixture and the street mirror to replace the horrible plastic cabinet from the early 1940's, this is what we got:

And finally, a very powerful shower courtain (which i had to convince hubby it's not going to drive him crazy and to trust me:
